By NBC News Staff WriterMCLAREN CAR RENTAL, MCLARENDON, N.C. — In an attempt to cut down on pollution, car rental companies are offering a car wrap accessory that allows the user to wear a phone as a wristband.
The device is called The Car Wrap and is designed to protect the user’s wrist from pollution and to avoid the need for a phone in the car.
The car wrap is worn around the user and has an embedded Bluetooth wireless earpiece to communicate with the car’s onboard sensors.
Car Wrap is designed for car rental users who want to use their phone for navigation, to listen to music or to use voice commands while driving.
It is priced at $30.
The Car Wra also comes with an earpiece that can transmit voice commands from the phone to the car and it will also be charged using the car battery.

The product is available through car rental and car shop stores nationwide, the company said.
Some car rental cars have already been sold through the company, the National Automobile Dealers Association said in a statement.
One thing to keep in mind is that the car wrap does not provide the same level of protection as a phone.
For example, while a phone provides the user with the ability to send voice commands to the vehicle, the Car Wrap only provides the Bluetooth radio, the earpiece and the car phone.
